We live in a society that is predicated on getting ahead by any means necessary. The ever-shrinking job market has put many individuals in positions to do the things they never thought would be needed. Consequently, all these issues have led new applicants to lie on their applications, with the hopes of getting ahead. This is not only morally unacceptable, but can cause you irreversible harm when it comes to your reputation. What most people do not realize is that we live in an information era, and recruiters can access any piece of information if they know where to look. Even as it has become so much easier for employers and recruiters to learn more about you some studies have indicated as much as 35 percent of resumes contain some form of deceptive past employment information. This is true on Social Media profiles on sites like LinkedIn. |
